Historical Background:
Gate way of wind Gwadar is located at the entrance of Persian Gulf. Its
600 - km Long coat line is one of the most beautiful coast line of the
world.
Surrounded by Dash and Kolanch valleys, ruled by Afrasiab, Khusro and
Lahr sip.
Gwadar saw the advent of Alexander the Great, followed by the rule of
Chandra Gupta Moria in 303 B.C.
A detailed history of later period is missing, but for some time Gwadar
remained a center for pirates.
Islam enters in this region during the second caliphate.
A well known Portuguese writer of the 16th century, Manual D.F. Sauza
wrote a detail of the Portuguese attack on Gwadar in his book (The history
of Portuguese days in the East) but the invaders were defeated by the
local Kalmat tribe as Mir Hammal fought bravely.
